Weather Report is a real-time simulation of clouds drifting above a bucolic landscape. The project consists of two interconnected software systems that interact within a closed feedback loop.

The first software is a 3D simulation of natural scenery with a realistic sky, created using Unreal Engine 5. The second is a custom object detection system, modified to recognize familiar shapes in the clouds. When this system detects a shape, it generates a short poem inspired by a corpus of Romantic texts centered on the theme of "Nature." This poem then influences changes in the cloud simulation, creating a continuous cycle of interaction.

Visually and thematically, Weather Report draws inspiration from the Romantic period in Northern Europe as well as open-world simulation video games.
